Laddsworth takes pride in its care for the environment. We observe Arbor Day each year,
and have committed to annual plantings of indigenous tree species.
Usually, the chosen species is the tree species chosen by National Government as the 'tree of
the year." For 2009, however, we chose to plant four Yellowoods to replace four trees brought
across from the old site of the school to the current school premises. Sadly, the four original
trees were damaged and died off during the extension of our Brindy Road parking area.
The trees planted on 23 September this year replace the four yellowoods brought to "old Laddsworth"
by the late Tim Wright, an ardent environmentalist and a wonderful educator. Many hundreds of
school children benefited from Tim's environmental education courses, and he is sadly missed by us all.
