Robyn Temple, a Grade 3 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School participated in the Gwahumbe MTB Family Ride on Sunday 22 April 2018 in Eston. Robyn came second in the 18km Nippers Girls (Under 9/10 age group).

Music Magnificent Concert

Members of the Laddsworth Senior Choir participated in the Music Magnificent Concert at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on Wednesday 18 April 2018. The concert was organised by the Department of Arts and Culture of the Province of KwaZulu-Natal. Other choirs who participated included Drakondale Girls Choir, Epworth Preparatory School, Gert Maritz Primary School, the Pietermaritzburg Children’s Choir, Carter High School and the Msunduzi Chorale. The 66 member choir from Laddsworth, under the direction of Mrs Leslie Duffy and assisted by Mrs Jenny Raubenheimer, sang beautifully.

Laddsworth hosts annual Boys 5-a-side Soccer Tournament

Laddsworth Primary School hosted its annual 5-a-side Soccer Tournament on Saturday 14 April 2018. Over 300 children from 44 teams took part in the tournament. The tournament was a great success with the players being exposed to high paced games against a number of opposition teams. Thank you to Hilton Quarry SuperSpar for sponsoring the tournament. They gave every player a fruit juice, packet of chips and a doughnut to help sustain their energy levels throughout the morning. It was a very successful Tournament and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who participated.

Success at Dargle Mounted Games

Jordyn de la Mare, a Grade 7 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School competed in the Turn and Burn Western Mounted Games in the Dargle, on Saturday 14 April 2018. Jordyn received 6 rosettes: 5 first places for figure of 8 flags, speed ball, speed barrel, Big T and for coming first overall. She also received a second place for poles. Well done Jordyn!

South Africa National Junior Swimming Champs

Thomas Truter, a Grade 7 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School competed at the South African National Swimming Championships in Durban on 22, 23 and 25 March 2018. Thomas came 14th in the 50m breast stroke, 14th in 100m breast stroke and 17th in 200m breast stroke. Thomas improved his entry times by 3:13 seconds in the 50m 2:06 seconds in the 100m and 5:37 seconds in the 200m.
