Laddsworth Inter-House Cross Country

Laddsworth Primary School kicked off the Cross Country season with Inter-House Cross Country on Tuesday 20 April 2021. Nyala (Green) won with 585 points, Duiker (Blue) 2nd with 510 points, Kudu (Red) 3rd with 493 points and Oribi (Yellow) 4th with 381 points. Laddsworth pupils enjoyed running Cross Country again and a record number of over 100 pupils arrived for early morning training at the beginning of Term Two.

 

Laddsworth Primary School celebrates World Book Day

Laddsworth Primary School celebrated World Book Day on Friday 23 April 2021. The pupils and staff were very creative in bringing various book characters to life.

 

Laddsworth pupils enjoy first Mini Cricket Matches of 2021

Laddsworth Grade One and Two pupils enjoyed their first Mini Cricket matches last week against Howick Preparatory School. The Grade Twos played on Tuesday 13 April and the Grade Ones played on Thursday 15 April. The boys and girls had lots of fun, with some pupils showing major cricket talent!

 

Laddsworth Junior Primary Inter-House Gala 2021

Laddsworth Primary School held the Junior-Primary Inter-House Gala on Tuesday 13 April (Grade 1) and Wednesday 14 April 2021 (Grade 2). Laddsworth would like to congratulate all our pupils who participated in the Gala. The Relay Trophy was won by Nyala (Green House) and the Winning House Trophy was won by Duiker (Blue House).

 

Laddsworth Senior Primary Inter-House Gala 2021

Laddsworth Primary School held its annual Senior Primary Inter-House Championship Gala on Tuesday, 30 and Wednesday, 31 March 2021. Even though there were no spectators to encourage the swimmers, they still managed to give their best and 11 records were broken! The winning House was Duiker, Kudu second, Nyala third and Oribi fourth. The Victor and Victrix Ludorum was brother and sister, Justin (Grade 7) and Hannah van der Merwe (Grade 4) from Kudu. All the races were recorded and posted on the Laddsworth Facebook page for parents, grandparents and pupils to enjoy.

Penguins Regional Level 3 Championship Gala

Laddsworth Grade 4 pupils, Carter Bloxham and Aphelele Mhlongo, competed in the Penguins Regional Level 3 Championship Gala from Friday 26 March to Saturday 27 March 2021 in Pietermaritzburg.
Carter achieved Gold Medals in 7 Under 10 Boys events: 50 &100m backstroke, 50 & 100m freestyle, 200m Individual Medley, 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. He also achieved a personal best time in each race, which gave him his Level 2 times.
Aphelele achieved Gold Medals for 4 Under 10 Girls events: 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly and a Silver Medal for 100m freestyle. Aphelele achieved her Level 1 times.

Laddsworth is very proud of their young talented swimmers!

 

Laddsworth Primary School celebrate 118th Birthday

Laddsworth celebrated its 118th Birthday on Monday 1 March 2021. The staff and pupils were treated to a surprise delivery of delicious, individually wrapped doughnuts, kindly donated by the Hilton Quarry SuperSpar.

Laddsworth is very proud of its 118 years of tradition and continues to encourage the values of Loyalty, Honesty, Self-Discipline, Sincerity, Courage and Respect.

 

Wilson Lollipop Tournament Winner

Alexia Smith, a Grade 4 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, competed in the TSA (Tennis South Africa) Wilson Lollipop Tournament on 20 and 21 February 2021 at Westridge Tennis Stadium in Durban. Alexia was the winner of the Green ball section. Congratulations Alexia, Laddsworth is very proud of your achievement.

 

Laddsworth Welcome the Grade Ones of 2021

Laddsworth Primary school was very pleased to welcome back all pupils on Monday 15 February 2021. The new Grade Ones were excited to finally start ‘big school’ and settled in with great enthusiasm, as the school year officially started.

 

Laddsworth Grade 7 Prize Giving Ceremony

Laddsworth Primary School held their annual Prize Giving on Friday 11 December 2020. The Prize Giving was very different this year, with only Grade Sevens and their parents attending and strict COVID-19 safety protocols being adhered to. The Prize Giving was followed by the Bell Ringing Ceremony.
Matthew Bishop was named the Dux of the School for 2020 and received the Trust Cup: Dux of the School. He also received the Laddsworth Natural Sciences Trophy, The Gould Cup for English, the Life Orientation Cup and the Gordijn Cup for Social Sciences.
Laddsworth Primary School wishes the Class of 2020 all the best for the future and encourages them to continue ‘Aiming High’.
